BATALHA FOR CULTURE
The abbey at Batalha is very impressive and was built in gratitude to Virgin Mary for a Portuguese victory over the Spanish by Joao in 14th century. It contains the tomb of Prince Henry the Navigator whose mother was Philippa of Lancaster.
