NOT EVERYTHING IS PLAIN SAILING

We are now apprenticed boat engineers.
1. Lost all our fresh water at sea due to a disconnected hose. Water pump merrily pumped away at sea into bilges and fresh water appeared over the cabin sole. Had to cut an access hatch behind the galley to gain access to the hose. This boat must have been built around the plumbing.
2. After heads (sea toilet) would not pump water in. First mate took the pump apart but couldnt get it together again. Skipper came to rescue with some lateral thinking and replaced the gasket in the correct place. Surgical experience came in handy to seal all the leaks around the gasket on completion.
3. Picked up a pot buoy and had to dive over the side to cut the residual rope from the prop. Diving experience came in handy.
Things come in threes so hopefully we have had ours for now.
